Zurich Trip Jan 2009

spring water coming out from a statue with running taps

Its like a dream coming true, even saying that can not match the excitement of being here.
I grew up in a middle class family and our yearly travel was mostly limited to the Northern parts of India. I was always interested in travelling and seeing places, as my elder brother says " iske pair main chakkar hain". In Zurich they have done the fantastic job of keeping the cultural heritage with modernity, as at the High Street, one one hand you will see all the modern stores and malls. On the other side, there are Roman style of buildings, statues and streets.

Zurich is the most populated city in Switzerland and even then it looks sparsely populated. Everything is in order, the trains run on time so do buses and trams. This is the country where they make best watches.

Here, One thing I must say that Zurich is an expensive place to visit as its one of the most visited places in the world. Tourism is the back bone of the Swiss economy.

Its a country of lakes and Zurich is also situated on the bank of Zurich lake and surrounded by small mountains. We decided to explore Uttliberg, there is train service to Uttliberg and it virtually goes up the hill in a perpendicular fashion. As, it was the month of January, Uttliberg was covered in the snow.
